MP Taverna, Chef Michael Psilakis’s modern interpretation of a traditional Greek tavern, is an exciting staple in the Long Island dining scene. Open for lunch and dinner, MP Taverna’s accessible, Greek-inspired menu brings Psilakis’ Greek fare into the American culinary lexicon and is another step towards the chef’s goal of putting Greek cuisine on the culinary main stage.
The menu offers mezes (appetizers) and salads perfect for sharing and casual yet elevated entrées such as the signature Grilled Branzino with fingerling potatoes, cherry tomatoes and olives. An abbreviated menu is available during lunch and includes a selection of salads and sandwiches along with a rotating prix-fixe menu for $17. Enjoy a list of daily rotating specials at dinner, honoring Chef’s Greek roots and an affordable beverage list featuring 20 wines that are available by the glass and an extensive selection of beers and ales are available on draft and by the bottle.
The interiors and ambiance by Michael David Associates provide a masculine, light and spacious brasserie feel. The main dining room on the ground floor seats 80 guests while upstairs. A large central j-shaped bar dominates the ground floor and seats 22 guests.
